Formed in Melbourne in 1984 by New Zealand songwriter Neil Finn, formerly of the band Split Enz, Crowded House gained considerable success with the Woodface album in 1991. They split in 1996 but were reunited in 2007. Neil and his brother Tim were awarded the OBE in 1993.
